Taking a Bus from Hamburg, Germany to Krakow, Poland

Our visit to Hamburg was a brief one.

We got up shortly after 6am this morning. Walking down the stairs gingerly to the ground floor with our luggage in tow, we took a few minutes to the main floor reception area.

After less than five minutes,  we were at the Hamburg bus station.

Wish we had more time in Hamburg!

I was impressed by J. who checked out the bus station ahead of time last evening after we got off the train walking back to our hotel.

He made sure he knew exactly where to board the bus and where the bus station would be for the next day so that we would not be running around in the morning looking for the bus station and missing the bus.

He has grown up and become more mature and prepared in life.
We truly thank God for that!

Since we had 30 minutes left before the bus came, we bought some breakfast at the bus station. The bus to Krakow, Poland, came right at 7:45am and left the station shortly after that.

At 11ish am, we arrived at the Berlin bus station, with an hour for a break , we bought some tuna pizza for me and vegetarian pizza for S. and J. They were very good.

We were on the upper deck of the Flixbus, painted in green, taking travelers from Berlin to all parts of Europe.

Our ticket was very cheap compared to the train fare we paid for Luneburg which costed 60 Euro each for a 3 hour trip wheres going  to Poland, the fare costed 40 Euros for each person for a 14 hour journey.

We spent almost a whole day on the bus and we enjoyed the scenery.

We passed by many large scale farms in Poland.

We also saw wind farms, forests with tall trees and tiny farm houses and beautiful small towns.

We saw many Interesting things,

as well as beautiful landscape along the way!

Our bus did not stop for passengers drop off or pick up until around 5:45pm. I got so excited thinking that we could get off the bus to stretch our legs, but there was no break there!

As soon as the passengers got off end new ones came onboard, the bus starting leaving. This happened for another two stops at a couple of cities.

I was glad that we brought some snacks with us for this trip. There was no coffee, smoke or lunch break during our entire bus trip.

The most enjoyable part of the bus trip was having the opportunity to have some good conversations with J.

Though we were tired running around to see the various attractions and moving from city to city and hotel to hotel, I reminded myself the main purpose for this trip was to spend time with J. and create some happy memories, so I really didn't care where we were as long as we were together having fun.

We met two German travelers sitting in front of us and we had some interesting conversations with them.

The bus arrived in Krakow, Poland at around 9:30pm. We took a taxi and checked into our hotel in Krakow.

Since we never had a break for lunch nor After checking into the hotel, we went out to the city centre around 10pm to find a place to eat.

What a stunning sight Krakow was at night!  We saw  medieval buildings all around the city square. It was
just magical!

We visited the Krakow Town Centre on our first night there.

We were surprised that the city centre was busy with many people still walking around.dinner going to Krakow, we were starving.

We ate in this 24 hour restaurant

We ate dinner at a 24 hour perogies restaurant.

Small, but this restaurant served great food!

Though the restaurant was not a big place.
There were a lot of choices and different kinds of fillings for the perogies.

We had the best perogies in Krakow, Poland!

The food was excellent and the prices unbeatable. We had never tasted such delicious perogies until now

Krakow, Poland

Thank God for a great trip, really looking forward to the next leg of our trip in eastern Europe and spending time together!
