A White Glove Dinner at a Medieval Restaurant, Krakow Main Square

Old Town Square, Krakow

We visited  Krakow, Poland recently. There were so much to see and enjoy in this amazing city!

Since we were staying in Krakow for a few days, we had plenty of time enjoying the cultural aspect and the fine cuisines of the city.

A pianist playing at the front of Wierzynek Restaurant

My Polish friend recommended us to eat at Wierzynek, a restaurant located in the city's Old Town District, dating back to the 14th century.

A wall mural in the Wierzynek Restaurant depicting a splendid medieval feast

This restaurant is best known for a splendid feast held for Europe's monarchs in 1364 and the feast lasted for 20 days!

Medieval objects decorate the interior of the restaurant

Wierzynek is an elegant restaurant decorated with medieval paintings and objects.

An elegant dining room on the second floor of the restaurant

Since it was a hot day, we rather be outside  instead of dining in one of the eight ornate dining rooms.

A stunning wall mural in the Wierzynek Restaurant depicting a splendid medieval feast

My favourite piece of art in this 14th century restaurant was this full size wall mural on the wall of the staircase leading to the second floor dining rooms.

In fact, I could not capture this huge painting in full so I had to take it in three different sections.

Besides beautiful 14the century art deco, Wierzynek Restaurant offered good food and some special service.

This was one of the rare times when we were served by well trained white gloved waiting staff.

 Fancy indeed!

Beef Cheek served at our dinner in Krakow, Poland

I had marinated duck, J. ordered beef cheek and
S. had roasted lamb.

The dinner was excellent as we were eating on a patio in a beautiful place in the Main Square of the Old Town District.

We could have stayed and talked all evening there and enjoying the sight and sounds of the Main Square !

The only regret we had was that we could not linger a little longer as we had bought tickets for a musical performance in the evening.

We were glad that we listened to our Polish friend's recommendation; we had a fabulous dinner at the Main Square in Krakow!
