Enjoying Life's Small and Beautiful Things on Our Walk to Castle Wawel - Krakow, Poland

We stayed for a few days in Krakow and worked out a routine for our days.

J. has worked hard all year and we were glad that we could vacation with him in Europe.

Unlike our youthful days when desiring to see as much as possible each day during our holidays, we have learned to enjoy a slower pace rather than rushing around to see all the attractions in the city we are visiting.

We were happy to let J. sleeping in without waking him up on this trip.

We started our day walking to the shopping mall close by to get some freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juice.

We would buy some freshly baked bread, pastries and groceries back to the condo for breakfast.

Strolling on Krakow's famous streets

Then we would head out for the activities and sightseeing for the day.

Today was a relaxing day for us.

We strolled on the streets of Krakow without a care in the world, enjoying its sights and sounds.

We purposely booked a serviced apartment unit near the Town Square so that we could be close to everything.

Before the Polish folk dance dinner show, we took time to have a walking tour of the interesting attractions close by.

Castle Wawel was one of the many places within walking distance from our vacation apartment.

It was about a thirty minute walk with stops for every photo ops.

Already purchased tickets to a show later, we knew that we would not have time to have a tour of the Royal Wawel Castle.

We just wanted to walk and look at the outside of this famous royal castle.

Besides, the part we enjoyed most about our trip was the opportunity to chat with J.

During our walk, we walked past many beautiful buildings.

We saw interesting things along the way such as this medieval knight walking on the street near the castle.

And we talked about everything.

J. explained to me about certain structures of the medieval buildings we were passing by, giving me their specific names and functions.

Wow! I never knew that our son is so well read and full of knowledge about so many different things!

Enjoying life's small things, stopping to smell the roses, chatting with your loved ones about little things are the real pleasures in life!
