Krakow Main Square, Poland - A Stunningly Beautiful Public Space

Krakow, Poland is a wonderful city!

Main Square, Krakow, Poland

No wonder, it used to be a royal city.

It was the capital city of Poland until the capital was moved to Warsaw.

Our most favorite place in Krakow was the Main Square where we visited numerous times during our vacation in that city.

The Main Square is a beautiful stunning public space where one can just sit and admire the  many Medieval buildings and architecture.

The Krakow Main Square - one of Europe's largest Medieval Square, well known for its Rock Doves

The Krakow Main Square dates back to the 13th century, and with almost ten acres of space, it is one of the largest Medieval squares in Europe.

The Krakow Main Square is listed as the best public space in Europe by The Project for Public Spaces (PPS).

The Square is lively with many things happening every day.

Considered by many as the cultural capital in Europe,  Kraków was listed as one of the top travel destinations in 2016.

It is also listed as a UNESCO heritage site.

However, due to my lack of knowledge in European history and geography, I never heard of the city of Krakow until our trip to Europe this time.

When my Polish friend learned that we were planning a trip to Germany, she suggested that we must visit Krakow if we had the opportunity to do so.

Fortunate to be blessed with good friends and willing to listen to their good suggestions, we decided to make a visit to Poland even though we originally did not plan on doing so.

Poland did not disappoint us at all!

Krakow is rich in history, music, culture and fabulous food.

There are so much to see and do in this amazing city!

There are street musicians, stall vendors selling all sorts of goods such as dry fruits, hats, hairpieces, drawings, paintings and souvenirs.

The Main Square located in the Krakow Old Town is a busy place.

It is just as spectacular at night as it is during the day.

In the evenings, many buildings are lit up like Christmas trees.

There are restaurants all around the Old Town Square.

Diners and visitors are out all evening into the wee hours of the night.

We have found Polish people are friendly and helpful.  Even without knowing a lot of English,  the Poles we have met went out of their way to help us on more than one occasions.

In fact we enjoyed Krakow so much that we extended our original stay from three nights to five days which gave us more time to enjoy this fabulous city.

After our five days stay in this marvelous city, we have fallen madly in love with Krakow!

We were sad that we were leaving this absolutely delightful city.

Thank you, Krakow, for a fantastic visit.
We will certainly come back to visit again in the future!
