Getting Our Uganda Visas at the Addis Ababa Airport, Ethiopia, Africa

A sunset scene in Addis Ababa, Airport,  Ethiopia
Our flight to Uganda, our  final African destination was not a direct one.

After a 14 hour flight , we landed at the Addis Ababa International Airport. Addis Ababa is the capital of Ethiopia.

There was another two hour flight from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to Uganda. The departure gate was changed at the last moment and we were rushing so much that I dropped my wrist watch without realizing it.

Entebbe International Airport, Uganda
From there we boarded our connecting flight to Uganda.

We arrived on Sunday,  12:30 p.m., at the Entebee  International Airport. (Uganda’s main airport).

We arrived to Uganda - Pearl of Africa!

Some of our teammates have already applied for their Ugandan visas online in Canada but we did not.

After completing a health claim form at the airport, we were asked to line up for our visa while our other teammates lined up at the online visa queue which was longer!

Our team waited at the Entebee Airport to be picked up

In about 5 minutes, after paying  US$50.00
( cash  accepted only)  to the immigration dept, we received our visas for Uganda.

However,  my teammates who applied online paid US$119.00. How about that? We were tinkled pink that we saved almost US$70.00 by getting our visas at the Ugandan airport.

Valerie has arranged two vans to pick us up.

We waited at the Meeter and Greeter area outside the airport for sometime, enjoying the nice sunny weather.

Fred and Jonah came to pick us up and we headed directly to a guest house in Kampala (about 1 hour from the airport).  The ride gave us a good tour of Uganda.

A Fish & Chips Dinner, Ugandan Style

Our first dinner was at the guest house. We all ordered some beer and fish dinners.

We had a nice fish dinner on the lawn of  our guest house.
Rose. and I took an evening stroll to the nearby market.  We were so tired that we went right to bed t our own room with a private bathroom.

Looking forward to the next two weeks in Uganda!
