What Canada Can Learn from Uganda -Offering Excellent Daycare Program to Its Female MP's

We visited the Ugandan Parliament Building in Kampala, Uganda
Of the entire visit to the Ugandan Parliament, what impressed me the most was that more than 60% of its MPs are female. What a great representation of the women in this country!

Canada doesn't even have this great representation by female M.P.s in our parliament in Ottawa as only about 15% of our current MPs are female.

I think this high number of female M.P.s presence in Uganda politics can be attributed to the government's great effort in looking after its female MPs, specially if they have young children.

A spacious play and rest area at the daycare
After our visit to the Ugandan legislative assembly, we toured the daycare at the Parliament building.

A colorful napping room  for kids

The daycare is spacious with excellent facilities including play and nap rooms.

An outdoor play area for the children where they can play and enjoy some sunshine.

A calming and comfortable nursing area for mothers.

My favourite room is the breastfeeding room for female M.P.
It is a comfortable and relaxing place for working moms at the parliament.

The day care is a wonderful and safe place for the children of women M.P. while they are working at the parliament!

Our Canadian Parliament can learn a thing or two from their Ugandan counterpart!
