We visited M-LISADA in the morning. Frederick, our driver was at our guest house right on time taking us to see the children there.
It was not too far from where we were therefore it only took about 20 minutes to get there.
A beautiful bright coloured building with children holding up welcome signs with our names on them greeted us on our arrival to M-LISADA.
Chairs were set out neatly in the open area and children were ready to entertain us with their songs and dances.
There were 5-6 boys and about a dozen girls dressed in colourful costumes singing and dancing their hearts out for us. There was no fancy electric equipment or sound system, but some traditional African drums and simply musical instruments.
The music and dances were upbeat and energetic. The skills and artistry demonstrated by these young singers and dancers were incredible!
We couldn't help but moved with the African beats and rhythm.
I did some research about this organization before coming to visit this place. Knowing the background of these children and the challenging situations they have lived through, I was moved to tears by the genuine joy and love of music demonstrated by these youngsters.
Rose started joining the children in their dance and I followed as I wanted to encouraged the kids and showed them our support.

An amazing performance by students at the M-LSADA, Kampala, Uganda In 2011, M-LSADA introduced the program Dance of Hope empowering young people into global citizens. They travel outside of Uganda performing audiences in foreign countries as well as leading workshops at the same time help building the young people's self esteem. |
These young music and dance artists have become role models in their community inspiring a whole new generation within and outside of Uganda!
It was an touching inspiring visit to M-LISADA!
