| The Santacon Weekend in San Francisco |
The second Saturday we were in San Francisco, we ran into a lot of Santas everywhere we went.
It was the Santacon weekend in San Francisco.
The city police had arrested ten people last year for intoxication during the Santacon weekend.
San Francisco denied a permit for the Santacon event this year.
However, there were still about 17,000 Santas showing up from other parts of the United States gathering here.
The kickoff meeting was held at the Union Square.
Many people dressed up as Santas one way or the other spreading throughout the city for their bar crawls.
Unfortunately, we missed the event at Union Square in the morning.
There were extra police on duty to keep people safe.
We saw Santas in all sorts of costumes everywhere on Saturday from morning until late into the evening.
I never heard of the Santacon event until this weekend in San Francisco. We have learned something new on this trip!
