A trip to the CN Tower is a must for many visitors to Toronto |
The CN Tower is one of the famous landmarks in Toronto.
At the height of 553 meters, it used to be the tallest free standing structure in the world from 1976-2010.
We, Torontonians were so proud of that reputation until another building eclipsed us later in a few years' time.

Visitors to Toronto always want to pay a visit there.
The CN Tower is ,located in downtown Toronto, right beside the Roger's Centre where ice hockey games are play.
We we had a good view of the waterfront area of the city

Recently, we had the honour of hosting two missionaries at our Toronto home for a couple of weeks.
Along with our guests, we were invited out to lunch at the CN Tower.
Marie came and picked all of us up for our lunch reservation.
We had a 360 degrees view of Toronto from the top of CN Tower

We were at the CN Tower for lunch with my mom years ago.
This time I found that security procedures really tightened up and everything was checked before we could enter to the upper floors of the CN tower.
Since we were having lunch there, we were seated by the window of the revolving restaurant.
We could see the new development occurring at the waterfront and all the new condos recently built there.
Not only did we have a good 360 view of the city of Toronto, we had a good look of the rooftops of many buildings in the city as well.
The appetizer plates were delicious. |
Ordering lunch at the CN tower's revolving restaurant, we had a number of choices.
Guests could choose their meals from the following choices:
1. a la carte menu
2. 2 course lunch
3. 3 course lunch
We all chose from the three course lunch
menu. I ordered mushroom soup and it was not bad.
The other people ordered appetizers plates which look really good and delicious..

As we were enjoying our appetizers, the restaurant revolved and we saw another side of our beloved Toronto.
We saw Lake Ontario, Toronto Island, the harbourfront's urban park and the man made sandy beach where visitors could enjoy the beach by the lake and be shaded under the umbrellas on hot sunny days.

We also recognized the unique building of OAC - Ontario Art College.
I couldn't recall exactly what I had for the main course. I think I had fish after the appetizer
However, I vividly remember how yummy my dessert was!
A peach tart with ice cream and something really delectable.
It was nice to kick back and relax with good friends and good conversations!
We enjoyed our lunch for over two hours and then we went to the viewing platform and experience the world's first glass floor experience.
Because we dined at the CN Tower, the admission was free for the viewing floor.
While some people expressed their phobia about height and dared not to look down, some kids were more brave than the adults.
This kid was really curious about what he could see below through the glass floor.
Standing on the glass floor, we could look all the way down to the bottom of the CN Tower.
We saw clearly the roof of the Ripley's Aquarium building located beside the CN Tower.
There were other things to do at the CN Tower such as riding the outdoor ride and walking outside the viewing platform while being tethered to a safety rope.
This afternoon, we saw on the close circuit TV that there was a young man proposing to his girl friend and putting the ring on her finger while they were edge walking around the circumference of the CN tower roof.
How daring and romantic! I don't think she would ever forget that in her life.
We had a fantastic time with our two missionary friends at the CN Tower!
