Mural Arts in Chemainus, a Small B.C. Town on Canada's West Coast

Day 8  Driving from Tofino to Victoria

Chemainus, British Columbia

After passing by Coombs, we continued our drive towards Victoria, B.C.

We passed by Chemainus,  a small community on the west coast.

This small town is well know for the murals adorning the walls of the town's buildings.

We drove around trying to see most of the murals in this town.

There are over 40 wall murals all over Chemainus, B.C.

Many of the wall murals depicted the history and development of the European settlement and their early life in this region of Canada.

The history of the aboriginals is recognized and honored in Chemainus, B.C.

Each mural tells a different story and records a slice of history in this area.

This wall mural tells the stories of Chinese immigrants in British Columbia, Canada

The stories and history of other cultures have been included on some of these wall murals.

Canada is a multi cultural country made up of immigrants from around the world.

It was good to see murals of people of other minorities and cultures have been given a place on the town's buildings.
