Celebrating Lunar New Year at Home in Canada
As an Asian Canadian, we are fortunate living in Canada. We have freedom of speech, religion, mobility and many other things. One of the things we value most is freedom of maintaining and celebrating our own cultures and traditions without being called out by our governement officialls in high places.
There are many special annual occasions and festivities in Canada which we observe and celebrate with our fellow Canadians. In addition to celebrating Canadian holidays, we also celebrate some of our more significant Asian occasions with our friends and families. The Lunar New Year is celebrated by thousands of families across North America.
This year we celebrated the Lunar New Year as usual with a big dinner and invited our other family members and closest friends to our house. It is always a joyous occasion and family event and we are glad that we are keeping the tradition going by getting together around the time of the new year!
