Attending a Noon Mass at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Ottawa

Notre Dame Cathedral, Ottawa

The Notre Dame Cathedral is a spectacular cathedral in Ottawa!

It was a Friday afternoon, we attended the noon mass at 12:pm at the church.

There were two priests present and the mass was conducted mostly by  the  priest from Africa.

Beautiful architectural detail inside the cathedral

The mass was about half an hour to 40 minutes so that people coming from work during their lunch break could get back to work in time.

A great place for prayers and mediation in the midst of the city

While travelling and passing by a church or cathedral, we always enter God’s house, light a candle and say a prayer for our two grown children.

This time I lit four candles, one of each for our sons and their other halves.

As a Christian mother, my most fervent hope is for our children and descendants to share our faith, to love and trust God for the rest of their lives.

Like Hannah in the first book of Samuel, I came to God’s presence and poured out my heart to the almighty and trust God that He will give us the best.

I  made a promise that in the future my whole family will return and offer Him our thanks should He honour us and remember our prayer requests made in this holy place.
Notre Dame Cathedral is located in downtown Ottawa

I was grateful that in the midst of our holidays and travel, we could still have a few quiet moments when we could reflect on God’s great love and His faithfulness to mankind.

A beautiful cathedral, Notre Dame is a quiet and magnificent place to go, seek God, reflect and pray in downtown Ottawa!
