Richard's Wedding Reception at Dynasty's Restaurant , Yorkville, Toronto

Guests were asked to find their names, take a Polaroid Picture and hang it at the restaurant reception area

Richard, my nephew went to Australia to study medicine. He just finished school and got married with a wonderful girl befriended at Australia. They have been together for a few years. two Christmas ago, Richard purposed to his girlfriend and they finally tied the knots in Bali and had a beautiful wedding there.

However, Richard has good friends and many cousins who were unable to travel to Bali to attend their wedding.

Therefore the new couple visited Toronto and had another reception in Canada so that Richard's many relatives could share their joy and happiness.

A brief and intimate wedding ceremony

Before the traditional nine course Chinese  wedding banquet started, a  local pastor who was Richard'  friend at university officiated the simple but intimate ceremony.

Signing the papers at the ceremony

After the wedding papers were signed, Richard's grandma and older relatives tol part in the Tea Ceremony welcoming the bride formally  into the family by presenting the new couple with gifts and sharing some words of wisdom.

When It was our turn to receive the tea and present the gifts to Richard,  I got so emotional that I was all choked up and could not hold my tears back.

I still remember the days when we visited them at their Pickering house. I saw Richard when he was a baby, then a cute little boy playing and jumping around in our house with our sons together.

How time has flew by and that good little boy, Richie, is all grown up!

Dave, my brother saw me with tears coming out of the ceremony, and he joked around
" Gees, was it really that painful?"

Margaret, my sister whose son is getting married next month added " You cried at Richie's wedding. You'd better cry at my son's wedding too. Otherwise, you are discriminating against him!"

A fun wedding game !
There were great good,  games, laughter, videos of Rich's wedding in Bali, the wedding was a great celebration of a happy couple finding each other, being in love and celebrating their new life together.

The most touching momentt for me was when Richard's mom thanking the guests and recalling what Richie was like growing up. Pride was written all over her face!

Richie, in his speech thanked his parents for their support and expressed his gratitude. It was heart warming and touching!

It was a joyful event and great celebration! We were delighted we could be a part of it!

All the best wishes to R and T. as they start their new life together as a married couple!

May God bless you!

  1. My sister made a video referring us as a ‘newlywed’ and it was beautiful. These pictures remind me of that video a lot. Also, my wedding was in one of the Chicago venues which looked like this a lot. Anyways, both of them look gorgeous together. Congratulations! I simply loved this post. It’s beautiful.
