Memorable Moments on Maho Beach in St Martin/ Sint Maarteen

I was in St Martin recently and spent a few days with my best girl friend. Though not a big island, St Martin is an island divided between two different countries, namely France and Netherland. The northern part of the island belongs to France and is called St. Martin while the southern part of the island belongs to Netherland and is called Sint Maarteen. When I was there, I stayed on the Dutch side of the island - Sint Maarteen.

I enjoyed my vacation on Sint Maarteen and had a few memorable moments there:

1. Going to the beach and soaking in the ocean water, floating on my floater, relaxing with Lil and her new friend. We met a young jewllery artist selling his work on the beach to pay for his travels.

2. Visiting the Caribbean International Academy's art class and admiring some of the beautiful and creative artowrk produced by the students there.

3. Experiencing the planes taking off and flying in on the Maho Beach near the Princess Julianna Airport. The planes were flying so low that they almost touched our heads! So exciting! A Relaxing Holiday with My Best Friend in St. Martin

I visited and stayed in St Martin for a week recently. It was a relaxing holiday by myself with my best friend! Li had a break from school and with her car, she drove me around to visit a few different places on the island.

The weather was hot and it rained almost everyday while I was there. Since Li. was having some problems with her leg, it wasn't easy for her to walk around too much. However, I was not there as a tourist. I simply wanted to be there for my friend.

Li, living in a nice condo apartment with a balcony overlooking a sandy beach within walking distance, enjoyed sunbathing on the beach after work. We went to the beach a few times swimming in the ocean as well as spending a lot of time talking and catching up with each other. It was fun talking about everything such as exchanging recipes, our grown kids, our families. We also enjoyed cooking together.

Li wanted to learn about Asian cooking therefore I prepared a few meals so that we could eat healthy. Li was so impressed with my cooking! Looking forward to the next few days and learning more about this pretty island. RT, St. Martin 052024
